Beginning in August, we'll begin a book study together as a congregation. We'll read a book on the same schedule, and every week Pastor Jones will post a video or two about the content. We'll also get together and discuss the book as a group.

Our first book is going to be Dinner with the Doctor by A. Andrew Das. From CPH's description:
What if you could sit down with the author of Luke's Gospel and hear his story firsthand?
Scholar and author A. Andrew Das bridges the gap between Bible commentary and daily devotional in this innovative exploration of Luke's Gospel. Through a creative narrative device—a dinner conversation with the physician and Gospel writer Luke himself— you will discover the radical message that turned the ancient world upside down.
Why does Luke emphasize prayer more than any other Gospel writer? How did early Christians navigate wealth in an empire without a safety net? What made Jesus's treatment of women so revolutionary?
Das unpacks twenty-three key passages in Luke’s Gospel with scholarly rigor and accessible warmth, revealing Christ’s vision of salvation as liberation from everything that diminishes human flourishing—sin, sickness, poverty, and injustice. If you’re hungry for deeper biblical commentary than a traditional devotional, this book guides you through how God consistently elevates the lowly and invites the marginalized to feast at His table.
The Gospel of Luke has never felt more immediate—or more necessary.
You can sign up at church for a discounted copy of the book or you can order it directly from CPH. The schedule will be coming soon!
